This play tells the true story of Doctor Ludwig Guttmann, who arrived from Germany at the beginning of World War Two and his consequent unconventional approach to patients with spinal injuries, encouraging
them to rebuild their lives and do more than just participate in activities.
He conceived the idea of combining sport and medicine, resulting
in the very first Paralympics Games held at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in 1948.
A fascinating and inspiring story and GBT are very fortunate to have secured the amateur premiere of it.
